Puri, the coastal city in Odisha and one of the four dhams, is not only a place of pilgrimage but of many things. A walk along the long beach in the late evening will take all your stress away for sure. Apart from the beautiful beaches, there are one-day getaways nearby which you can explore at a pocket pinch.
Chilika is one of the best places that you can be at when you are visiting Puri. It's a lake that also acts as a habitat for seagulls. A boat ride at the lake will give you opportunities to feed them and if you are lucky, you might spot penguins too. Do not forget to try the seafood at the nearby islands when you are visiting Chilika.
It would be a sin to not mention the Konark temple if the discussion is about Puri. The thousand years old sun temple carved out of stones is a standing testimony to the beautiful Kalinga Architecture. Once a 200ft tall structure, it has stood the test of time, although much of it has been destroyed now. A 35KM ride from Puri, you will come across beautiful beaches on the way which you can explore while coming back.
