Meghalaya - captured by Aparna

Just a couple of months left before the MBA chapter was about to end, my friends and I decided to give it some unforgettable memories. What could have been better than a perfect road trip, overlooking the mountains and it took us to Meghalaya - Adobe of clouds.

Being the most accessible state of the seven sisters it was quite easy to reach. Flight to Guwahati followed by a road trip to the heart of Meghalaya, Shillong. Day 1 was spent in Shillong, exploring the famous golf course, the cathedral and the local market. On day 2 we went for Cherranpunji- the wettest place on Earth! Not to be surprised we are testimony of the same. The next 2 days were spent in Dwaki. Riverside camping and looking at the crystal-clear water of Umngot and doing different kinds of adventure sports. The last two days were fulfilled witnessing nature’s craft in Mawlynnong. Living root bridges, mystic forest and waterfalls.

The entire week-long trip is the highlight on its own. Either be the wonderful sunrise sunset or the breathtaking valleys and don't forget the hot maggie and momos. Things with which we were overwhelmed was the people of the state. The hospitality they provide will force you to cancel all the returning tickets. And to sprinkle some glitter on the painting so beautiful, cleanliness is followed throughout the state.

Note: We’d like to thank The Wayfarer for making the entire trip convenient by arranging everything for our journey! They got us the best homestays & hotels with the best views and a superb guide & driver, all at a reasonable price of INR 11,500 per person.
